You’d be forgiven for passing by Los Amigos Fishing & Hunting without even noticing. At under 180 square feet, it occupies just a pocket-sized slice of New York City real estate.
Since 1965, Los Amigos has served as a local social club for community members on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. But Felipe Cortes, the 86 year-old owner of the club, fears its days are numbered. The rent, he says, is too high.
