A map and companion field guide to the signscape along Lee Avenue, a 3⁄4-mile long high street of a Satmar Hasidic enclave in North Brooklyn.
Illustrated with photographs of the storefronts along its 14 blocks, this map aims to bring the study of signage to life by encouraging people to experience the sign environment along Lee Avenue in person, actively engage with a part of the urban landscape that normally goes overlooked, and show in a direct way how the signs and letterforms around us can impact the way we experience the city.
